Sonoran Pronghorn Monitoring & Wildlife Biologist

Position Overview

Yulista Logistics Solutions is seeking a Biologist to support conservation efforts for the endangered Sonoran pronghorn on the Barry M. Goldwater Range. This position combines wildlife monitoring, telemetry, GIS, environmental compliance, and aviation wildlife hazard management in southwestern Arizona.

Biologists work closely with a team to monitor Sonoran pronghorn populations, conduct wildlife surveys, manage data, and support environmental stewardship efforts across the range. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience with wildlife conservation, GIS, telemetry, and environmental compliance in a diverse field setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor endangered Sonoran pronghorn using telemetry and observational survey methods
  • Conduct daily Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) surveys and wildlife hazard assessments
  • Collect, manage, and maintain wildlife monitoring data and databases
  • Use ArcGIS to map pronghorn locations and create range utilization graphics
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Review and organize game camera imagery
  • Support environmental compliance monitoring activities, including stormwater inspections
  • Remove carrion from range-adjacent roadways as needed
  • Maintain field vehicles and equipment
  • Communicate with team members and range personnel using handheld radios

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Wildlife Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of one year of field research experience
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license (or ability to obtain one)
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Identification of birds, mammals, and reptiles of the southwestern United States
  • Wildlife telemetry experience
  • Experience with ArcGIS or other GIS software
  • Environmental compliance knowledge
  • Technical writing and data management experience
  • Experience operating 4-wheel drive vehicles
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
