Small Mammal Trapping with AZGFD (Buckeye) The Arizona Game and Fish Dept. needs volunteers to help set small mammal traps (Shermans) near Buckeye. This is a great opportunity for interested volunteers to get involved with AZGFD projects. The first trapping event is October 11th-18th and the second is November 14th-21st. AZGFD Colorado Pikeminnow & Roundtail Chub Harvest & Sorting Bubbling Ponds Hatchery is looking for two volunteers for Colorado Pikeminnow Harvest on October 24th. On December 5th, five volunteers are needed for Roundtail Chub Harvest. This is an earth pond and is very labor intensive. On December 6th, four volunteers are needed for chub sorting. Northern Pike Removal from Rainbow Lake The Region 1 AZGFD Office is looking for volunteers to help manually remove illegally introduced Northern Pike from Rainbow Lake. The project will run for several weeks late February/early March, and a moderate amount of volunteers are needed to help with gillnetting to remove pike before they begin to spawn.
