POSITION OVERVIEW:

Experienced field botanists needed for veg inventory crew in the Chuska Mountains, northern AZ and NM, from mid-July through at least August. Work involves estimating plant biomass using double sampling method, lots of hiking and driving in steep terrain, camping out, and back-country navigation, all on commercial forests on Navajo Nation. Knowledge of Southwestern montane flora a must.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have own camping gear sufficient for multiple days away from town. Must be in shape and willing to get in even better shape. Vehicles will be provided. All work will be via camping, as housing is limited and work areas remote. Crew will work in pairs and alone. Schedule is 10 days on 4 off. Please provide resume and references.
