About the Workshop:
Hosted by the Arizona Chapter of The Wildlife Society, this one-day workshop will expose participants to real-world techniques used in wildlife management and research. The event will feature hands-on training sessions led by professionals from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, USDA Wildlife Services, universities, and NGOs.
Bonus: Bat mist netting after dark on Saturday + potential Sunday morning activities!
Workshop Highlights:
✅ Capture Techniques – Sherman traps, clover traps, and more
✅ Wildlife Handling & Equipment Use – Darting, leg holds, propane net guns, CODA Net Gun
✅ Radio-Telemetry & GPS – Learn how to track wildlife
✅ Bat Identification & Mist Netting – See nocturnal wildlife up close!
🌲 Camping is permitted and encouraged on Friday and Saturday nights, offering great networking opportunities!
🚨 Limited Spots Available! Space is capped at 60 participants, with priority given to students and young professionals. Other chapter members will be placed on a waitlist for any remaining spots.
