About the Workshop:
Hosted by the Arizona Chapter of The Wildlife Society, this one-day workshop will expose participants to real-world techniques used in wildlife management and research. The event will feature hands-on training sessions led by professionals from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, USDA Wildlife Services, universities, and NGOs.
Bonus: Bat mist netting after dark on Saturday + potential Sunday morning activities!
Workshop Highlights:
Capture Techniques – Sherman traps, clover traps, and more Wildlife Handling & Equipment Use – Darting, leg holds, propane net guns, CODA Net Gun Radio-Telemetry & GPS – Learn how to track wildlife Bat Identification & Mist Netting – See nocturnal wildlife up close!
Camping is permitted and encouraged on Friday and Saturday nights, offering great networking opportunities!
Limited Spots Available! Space is capped at 60 participants, with priority given to students and young professionals. Other chapter members will be placed on a waitlist for any remaining spots.
