Looking for hands-on field experience in wildlife research? The Tohono O’odham Nation’s Natural Resources Department is hiring Biological Field Technicians to assist in a non-invasive jaguar detection study in the Baboquivari Mountains.
Duties Include:
- Deploying and maintaining remote cameras for monitoring medium and large mammals
- Identifying wildlife tracks and signs, including mountain lions, deer, javelina, ocelots, and jaguars
- Conducting vegetation surveys
- Using GPS and mapping tools
- Possible overnight camping in the field
Ideal for:
- Those with experience in biological or wildlife studies
- Outdoor enthusiasts comfortable with rugged terrain
- Individuals eager to gain hands-on field research skills
Minimum requirements:
- High school diploma and six months of experience or education in a biological or wildlife field
- Ability to drive 4WD in rocky and sandy terrain
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
