WHEN: 2021 Spring Semester – January 4th – April 16th. Class will be held on Fridays only from 9am-12:20pm. (Spring Break: March 15th – 21st)

WHAT: Instructor(s) for Bio 478 Field Techniques Class.
As of now there has been quite a bit of flexibility built into the course to cover topics related to the areas below. Instructors could cover as much or as little as they wanted, take students out in the field, or introduce them to other professionals.
The major topics of the course are:
- Mapping (4 weeks) – Position Filled
- Aquatic biology (4 weeks) – OPEN
- Terrestrial biology (4 weeks) – OPEN
- Reporting and management strategies (3 weeks) – OPEN
Compensation will range between $2,000-$3,200 (for entire course) depending on the number of students involved. Interested persons may apply to teach one section or several depending on their interests.
There is not a designated text for this course, however students will be purchasing the American Fisheries Society standard methods in sampling.
As of now, three students are enrolled in the course, though this number will likely increase to six or seven students.
GCU is creating a “shell” for the course so that professionals can bring in materials they feel comfortable with and are relevant for the students in their pursuit of graduate work or careers.
