There is still space for FVRG’s The Verde River: State of the Watershed Conference.

VRVNO is glad to be partnering with Friends of Verde River Greenway in hosting this event that will bring together the broad network of partners, community members, local leadership, scientists, restoration practitioners, conservationists, naturalists, business owners, and other river enthusiasts who have a vested interest in the health of the Verde River Watershed.

Join us on May 10th for one of many field trips across the Verde Watershed including: Wild and Scenic Fossil Creek, Watchable Wildlife at Page Springs and  Interpretive Verde River Kayak Trip. These field trips will appeal to all of you in one way or another because they include kayaking, birding, and conservation.

On May 11th the conference continues at the Clubhouse in historic Clarkdale, Arizona.  Hear from Vincent Randall, Apache Elder on the importance of water to the Yavapai-Apache Nation and from Sarah Porter, Director of the Kyl Center for Water Policy at Arizona State University on the cost of water uncertainty in Arizona.

Learn about the environmental, social and economic contributions that the Verde makes to the region and the state during conference sessions that include Sustaining Flow; Restoring Habitat and Building Community where professionals in the field will present on current efforts being carried out to sustain the Verde. Then spend some time at the Verde Watershed Café further exploring with regional watershed and restoration professionals topics that are important specifically to you.

We all know our natural, cultural and water resources are part of what make living in the State of Arizona so unique. So please come join us as we learn about the Verde River and contribute to the success of this inaugural event.

Visit www.verderivergreenway.org to register today!

We look forward to seeing you there.
