March for Science – Prescott
April 22, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
FreePrescott March for Science
Saturday, April 22nd
10AM – 3PM
Courthouse Square
120 S. Cortez St., Prescott, AZ 86303
The March for Science on Saturday, April 22, sounds a call to support and safeguard the
scientific community. Recent policy changes have caused heightened worry among
scientists. The mischaracterization of science as a partisan issue, which has given
policymakers permission to reject overwhelming evidence, is a critical and urgent matter.
It is time for people who support scientific research and evidence-based policies to take a
public stand and be counted.
The primary march will be in Washington, DC, but satellite marches are occurring across
the nation, including in several Arizona cities. We encourage you to join your local march!
The plan for the Prescott March for Science is to have folks standing with signs on corners
and talking with visitors at the same time as the city’s Earth Day event. The event will not
include mass marching, bullhorns, and chanting, etc. Many of the “marchers” will also have
Earth Day booths.
Volunteers needed to help organize and participate!
