Navajo Nation Bioblitz

The Navajo Natural Heritage Program is hosting the 1st Annual Navajo Nation Bioblitz as part of the City Nature Challenge!
Event Details:
- Dates: April 24–26, 2026
- Location: Across the Navajo Nation (with in-person activities at Asaayi Lake)
This event focuses on documenting biodiversity across Diné Bikéyah and is open to all experience levels.
Ways to Participate:
- In-person (Asaayi Lake):
- Guided field surveys, nature exploration, and optional camping
- Registration required by April 17 (limited space)
- Anywhere on Navajo Nation:
- Submit observations using the iNaturalist app
- No registration required
Participants will contribute observations through iNaturalist as part of the global City Nature Challenge, helping document and showcase biodiversity across the Navajo Nation!
