Supplemental Feeding
Help feed prairie dogs at Las Cienegas until the monsoon rains come and the grasses grow in July! Walk around colonies and place a small handful of pellets in each active (fresh diggings, scat, or prairie dogs) burrow. Alfalfa pellets are already on site near the observation towers. Volunteers are needed at least once a week every week until July. Sign up on the following Doodle poll and direct your questions to [email protected] or 623.236.7529. http://doodle.com/poll/fm42ae7u5d7zadtr
Visual Counts
Spend your morning or evening monitoring prairie dogs for Arizona Game and Fish Department! We need volunteers to count prairie dogs and document weather and other species interactions for at least four hours straight, on a monthly basis. Volunteers will watch colonies from a hidden location (blind/vehicle/vegetation) and write down what they see (data sheet attached) during the morning and/or evening. To do this all you will need is a pair of binoculars, and supplies to be outside for a few hours. Contact [email protected] or 623.236.7529 if you have any questions.
