AAF HW 180 2015 Final Approved Flyer for June 27 2015 Workday 61515

Arizona Antelope Foundation is coordinating a workday in league with Coconino National Forest & Arizona Game and Fish Department to improve habitat connectivity for pronghorn.  This workday is part of a larger project seeking to repair landscape-level habitat connectivity across northern Arizona with the support of additional partners such as Babbitt Ranches, Arizona Department of Transportation, Kaibab National Forest, and National Park Service.  Targeted sections of fencing will be modified to promote passage of pronghorn.  Strategies include highway right-of-way (ROW) fence re-alignment to create staging zones, reducing fences to 4 strands, replacing bottom barbed strands with smooth strands, and raising bottom strands to match appropriate heights (16″ ROW, 20″ pasture).

Work will be done on Saturday, June 27th.  Participants are invited to camp out Friday evening prior to the workday and/or Saturday evening following the workday.  For location and directions to the AAF camp site, see the attached pdf.

Dinner will be provided Saturday evening to all interested participants following the workday.  Special thanks go to AAF for contributing the amazing food and cooking services.  They never disappoint. Please RSVP to Glen Dickens (AAF, info@azantelope.org) so that they can be sure to have the right amount of food prepared.
