2-day Wilderness Steward training (backpacking)

The Arizona Wilderness Coalition and Tonto National Forest are partnering to provide a two-day backpacking adventure in the Superstition Wilderness, as part of AWC’s Individual Wilderness Stewards Program. Participants and staff will backpack into one of Arizona’s first wilderness areas, and learn the history of wilderness and the local ecology in the Superstition mountains. You will also gain an in-depth lesson on what it means to create solitude opportunities, and how to do it, so that you can come back and help complete surveys throughout the year.
