This position will prepare funding proposals, prepare performance reports on existing funding agreements, and assist with management of agreements. This position will be responsible for equipment maintenance and identification of equipment and material needs for research projects, and be expected to assist with facility maintenance and fish care, in particular when these have special research requirements. This position may supervise one fish culturist and seasonal interns or technicians, and will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and mentorship to his/her employees. This position will be expected to work closely and effectively as part of a small (currently 3 people) research team at ARCC, as well as with staff at nearby hatcheries. This position will also be expected to work as part of the larger Research Branch team to accomplish the branch’s goals and operational objectives which include, but are not limited to, outreach, training, and providing expertise and support to other work units in the Department. This position will be expected, at times, to provide relief support of ARCC operations, which may include fish care and facility operations, and, during the remainder of the ARCC renovation, this position may be asked to contribute to facility planning discussions and to support and facilitate renovation activities.
