SALARY: $11.00 – $12.00 / hourly
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Social Media Intern will support the Department’s Information Branch and drive social media engagement on key issues. With guidance, the intern will schedule and disseminate content generated by the Information Branch on social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram) and provide support for department-wide social media/digital teams. Assists in monitoring for comments by the public and responding when appropriate. Analyzes social/digital media data, provides reports and tracks posts with highest performance/responses. Helps maintain overall social media editorial calendars and assists with department-wide efforts and strategies to drive engagement and exposure. Performs other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have experience with social media for personal and business use and will have the ability to think strategically, understanding how social media fits into public affairs and marketing campaigns.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in curriculum leading towards a Bachelor’s or higher level degree on a substantially full time basis (usually 12 semester hours) and pursuing a major in Wildlife Biology or closely related field applicable to the internship opportunity (subject to verification-attach verification)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above
- Valid driver’s license (free of restrictions, if applicable)
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Microsoft and Adobe products. The candidate will have strong communication, mathematical and computer skills, be detail oriented, thorough and well organized.
Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).
