QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate will have experience in: proper and safe handling of a variety of firearms, range safety procedures and practices for operating a variety of firearms, hunting laws and regulations for Arizona. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences to deliver education and training programs and lead group of individuals through educational activities.
Preferred candidates will have completed the Arizona Hunter Education Course, have experience with public speaking or delivering education programs and NRA Range Safety Officer certification or completion of an AZGFD Range Safety Officer training course.
A Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card will be required. Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. Medical/Physical examination will include a baseline blood lead level and a baseline hearing test, both which will be conducted on an annual basis.
Position requires possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).
