Under general direction of the Hunting and Shooting Programs Manager, the Archery Education Coordinator provides technical guidance, training, administrative expertise and performs related work to public schools and community organizations for an ongoing statewide archery recruitment and retention program that follows the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) model.
Maintains and expands existing statewide NASP program and 3D Challenge; conducts public archery shooting events to enhance safe public use of archery hunting equipment. Manages the archery loaner program and trainings, and builds social support and interest in hunting traditions. Position manages program budget, tracks expenditures; procures, maintains and allocates extensive archery equipment and training materials within state policies. Responsible for federal, state and NASP reporting; monitoring and evaluating program content and national trends for safety compliance and strategies to meet Department mission and program objectives. Recruits, trains, coordinates and oversees an extensive base of volunteers, coaches and teachers for implementing program and hosting events and other activities safely and within Department and program guidelines. Position serves as liaison for the Department and archery shooting sports programs at local, regional, tribal, and national events, conferences and meetings and requires public speaking and presentations. Perform other duties as assigned.
